According to the latest information from the search navigation network: early this morning, the official website of the Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration reported that a ship 165 meters long in the Yangtze River estuary sank and 16 people were in danger. Please pay attention to search and rescue by passing ships.
At around 23:00 on December 13, 2020, a container ship "OCEANA" with a capacity of 1740Teu collided with the container ship "Xinqisheng 69" near the light buoy D15 in the North Channel Channel of the Yangtze River Estuary due to a main engine failure.

The East China Sea Rescue Bureau received information from the Shanghai Maritime Search and Rescue Center: The Chinese cargo ship “Xinqisheng 69” was collided by the Antigua and Barbuda container ship “OCEANA” whose main engine failed in the north channel of the Yangtze River Estuary, causing the “Xinqi There is a danger of sinking when the Sheng 69" wheel enters the water. "Xinqisheng 69" is loaded with 650 containers. A total of 16 Chinese crew members on board are in danger. The foreign ship is currently in no danger.
The estuary of the Yangtze River may be temporarily closed for all flights.

After the incident, the East China Sea Rescue Bureau dispatched professional rescue ships "Donghai Rescue 101, 102" to the scene for rescue. In the early morning of the 14th, the "Donghai Rescue 101" ship rescued seven people in distress and recovered the remains of one victim. The search and rescue work is still in progress.

At 0119, 2 people in distress were successfully rescued;
At 0200, 3 people in distress were successfully rescued, and it was learned that other forces on the scene rescued 3 people in distress;
At 0220 to 0255, two people in distress were successfully rescued;
At 0342, the body of one victim was found and recovered.
At 0106, the "Dong Hai Jiu 102" ship on standby at Luhua Mountain went to the scene
0400 hours. According to the information of rescued persons, the 16 persons in distress of the ship in distress were all wearing life jackets when they abandoned the ship. When the ship was sinking, they had no time to board the life raft and jumped into the sea.
At present, 10 people have been rescued, 1 person was killed and 5 people are missing. The northerly winds at the scene are 7-8, the waves are 2-3 meters high, and the visibility is good. The rescue is in progress.
OCEANA has been ordered to drop anchor in the Yangtze River estuary and wait.
