The Minister of Industry of Thailand ordered the Industrial Inspection Team to conduct a raid search of the warehouses and business premises of the three import trading companies, in conjunction with the Industrial Standards Bureau and the Trade Competition Commission. It is reported that these warehouses store "three-no" products sold through online platforms, and none of them have obtained TISI certification from Thailand's industrial standards.
Among them, TT-One Technology Co., Ltd.'s warehouses located in the CTT Salaya Park project and warehouse numbers 52/36-39 and 52/34 were investigated. The company has over 21 stores on its online platform. The investigation found that the electrical appliances such as power plugs, extension cords, mobile power supplies, air fryers, small fans and other electrical products in its warehouse are all from China and are not printed with TISI certification marks.
The second one to be investigated was NTP Electronic 2019 Co., Ltd., located on the Third Road, Putamonthorn, Bangkok. The company has 3 online stores called ONESAM.
Earlier, TISI officials investigated and found that the company's extension cable sample test results did not meet the standards, and the power cords of mobile phones and tablets found in the warehouse will also be sealed. Although NTP Co., Ltd. imported the power cord from China through MGT Intercorporation Co., Ltd., it was also sealed because it did not have a TISI certification mark.
In addition, the investigation team asked these three companies to remove unqualified products.
After completing the first three rounds of raids, Thai police targeted a warehouse in Bangkok's Bangkon Tin District, and seized more than 600,000 electronic and electrical products in one fell swoop. After investigation, the warehouse is operated by DS Tools Co., Ltd., and its electronic products imported and sold under the two major brands Rhino and SWORDFISH have not obtained relevant certification.
During this operation, Thai police seized a total of 602,340 power plug-ins, extension cords and switches that have not obtained TISI certification, and also seized 2,460 shower heads and faucets with forged or incorrect standard marks. According to preliminary estimates, the total value of these confiscated goods is close to 2.6 million baht.
Reports have pointed out that investigators found that DS Tools Co., Ltd. had a production contract with a factory in China and relied on a nationwide retail and wholesale network to distribute the products.
At present, it is not known whether these searched companies, warehouses, and online stores are related to the country.
However, it should be noted that it is reported that: "Due to this surprise operation, the Ministry of Industry of Thailand is preparing to notify the customs department! It requires it to strengthen supervision of similar imported products and strengthen inspections of incoming electronic products!"
It can be foreseen that in the future, the inspection efforts of Thai customs will be strengthened.Relevant freight forwarders and cargo owners must pay more attention, especially electronic products, and must pay attention to compliant production and export compliance.
