NO.1 Shenzhen’s exports increased by 19.4% in the first eight months
According to Shenzhen Customs, in the first eight months of 2023, Shenzhen's cumulative imports and exports were 2.37 trillion yuan (RMB, the same below), a year-on-year increase of 8.1%, higher than the national and Guangdong provincial levels.
Looking at August alone, Shenzhen's import and export reached 364.56 billion yuan, an increase of 29.4%. Among them, exports were 243.11 billion yuan, an increase of 48.1%; imports were 121.45 billion yuan, an increase of 3.3%.
Private enterprises have become the main driving force for Shenzhen's foreign trade growth. In terms of product categories, exports of mechanical and electrical products accounted for more than 70%, and exports of electric passenger vehicles increased by more than 6 times. In terms of imports, mechanical and electrical products account for nearly 80% of the total. Semiconductor manufacturing equipment has doubled, with imports exceeding 10 billion.
NO.2 South Korea’s automobile exports surged 28.7% in August
South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy recently stated that South Korea’s automobile exports increased by 28.7% year-on-year in August, benefiting from strong global demand for electric vehicles and other environmentally friendly vehicles.
