Attention! Amazon FBA product storage restrictions have changed again!

Jim Sunny Worldwide logistics 2021-04-27 11:29:17
Amazon announced that it will adjust the Amazon logistics product warehousing restrictions on sites in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. There will no longer be any restrictions on the number of ASIN-level merchandise warehousing, and the number of goods warehousing will be restricted according to different storage types.

This change allows sellers to more flexibly manage products sent to Amazon fulfillment centers. The following will introduce to you in detail through several aspects:

▍Limit the quantity of goods into the warehouse according to different storage types

According to the seller's past sales and forecasted sales, Amazon will set a limit on the number of goods issued/replenished according to different storage types (standard sizes, large items, clothing, shoes and boots). In short, sellers can issue/replenish goods based on past sales and estimated sales of goods, thereby reducing the possibility of out-of-stock.

On the Restock Limits monitor (ie, the "Inventory Performance" page, or the "Shipment Processing Progress" page), expand the Restock Limits and Storage volume tabs at the bottom of the page to view your replenishment Details of cargo restrictions and the maximum number of warehousing for each type of storage.

Maximum inventory level: the maximum quantity of all your standard-size products that can be put into the warehouse

Inventory limit usage: the amount you have currently used, including but not limited to the number of products stored in the Amazon fulfillment center, and any products that have not been received into the warehouse (for example: shipments that have been created but not yet shipped, shipments in transit Shipments, or shipments being received), the quota used does not include waiting for removal and any reserved inventory.

Maximum number of shipments: The number of standard-size commodities that you can currently enter the warehouse. Shipping more than the maximum number of shipments allowed will violate Amazon policy and may result in the cancellation of non-compliant shipments.

Because Amazon UK and EU sites (Germany, France, Italy, and Spain) have different restrictions on the number of goods issued/refilled for each storage type, sellers can log in to the seller's platform of each of the above sites respectively.

Sellers can download the "Inventory Age Report" on the [Inventory>Inventory Planning>Warehouse Age] page to view the storage type of ASIN. Since the storage type is determined according to the characteristics of the product, it cannot be changed and adjusted.

▍The difference before and after the change of the entry limit

Inventory performance index scores (IPI) are subject to storage restrictions that are not up to standard based on volume (in cubic feet or cubic meters), which determines the Amazon fulfillment center storage space available to sellers.

The product delivery/replenishment limit set by storage type is based on the number of products, which determines the number of products that the seller can send to the Amazon fulfillment center. Regardless of whether the IPI score is up to the standard, the seller will have a product release/replenishment limit set by the storage type.
