Sunny Worldwide LogisticsIt is a logistics company with more than 20 years of transportation experience, specializing in markets such as Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, and Southeast Asia. It is more of a cargo owner than a cargo owner~

Recently, Broekman Logistics, a well-known European logistics company, received sky-high fines totaling 960,000 euros (approximately 7.56 million yuan).

The reason for the penalty this time was that the company's branch in Venlose did not store battery products in compliance with regulations.

Dutch media reported that the Venlose branch of Broekman Logistics has been fined 460,000 euros for violating safety regulations.

The Limburg Environmental Service warned that if Broekman did not show any improvement, it would be fined another 500,000 euros (about 3.94 million yuan).

De Venlose vestiging van Broekman Logistics heeft al 460.000 euro aan boetes gekregen voor het overtreden van veiligheidsregels.

According to an investigation by local television, 13 violations were discovered at Broekman Logistics' distribution centers in the past year.

The main violations are:

1. Storage of batteries and accumulators without a license, temporary storage of hazardous substances without authorization,

2. Work not specified in the license was performed, and hazardous chemicals were not properly stored separately, posing safety risks.

It is reported that these violations were exposed as early as March 2023, but until 5 months after the incident was exposed, Broekman Logistics had not made any substantial improvements.

As a result, the inspection agency issued a fine of 250,000 euros, and in April this year, the company was fined a further 25,000 euros.

The Dutch Labor Inspectorate and the North Limburg Safety Zone imposed fines of 100,000 euros and 85,000 euros respectively.

In addition, the environment department will impose an additional mandatory fine of 500,000 euros.

In response, a spokesperson for Broekman said,There was indeed misconduct at the distribution center.

Improvements have been made, automation systems have been improved and management changes have been made. Therefore, Broekman remains hopeful that he will not have to pay a fine of 500,000 euros.

According to feedback from many industry insiders,At present, most of the battery goods contracted by Chinese freight forwarding and logistics companies are not stored in compliance with regulations. This incident of European local freight forwarders being fined has sounded the alarm for all Chinese freight forwarding and logistics companies!
