According to the latest news from foreign media, truck drivers in Maharashtra, India began to strike indefinitely on July 2 after a labor-management dispute with the traffic authorities.
The labor dispute mainly stems from operators' dissatisfaction with the current traffic supervision system, including policy issues such as electronic charging systems, fines systems, cleaning regulations and urban area access restrictions.
It is reported that the strike will involve up to 20,000 trucks and other freight vehicles in Mumbai, India and other parts of Maharashtra. As there is no end date for the strike, these vehicles will be stopped indefinitely.
The strike action will result in delays and interruptions in and out of Maharashtra's shipments, including basic commodities. The strike could disrupt important supply chains in India.
Currently, transporters refuse to make concessions until the state government addresses their long-standing unsatisfactory needs. With this in mind, the state government has set up a 10-person committee led by the transport commissioner to investigate the issue.
It is understood that Mumbai is the capital of Maharashtra, India, and is the largest seaport and important transportation hub in India. Mumbai is the world's largest textile export port and is known as the "cotton port".
Navasiwa Port is located in Navi Mumbai, Legard District, Maharashtra, India. Due to the truck driver strike, the transportation of cargo at the port may be interrupted and delayed.
Here is a reminder that the cargo owners and freight forwarders who have shipped the country recently, please pay attention to the delays and impacts caused by the strike activities to avoid unnecessary losses! Forwarding Zhou Zhi~
