Repeatedly suspended! Maersk cancels another trans-Pacific route
Maersk issued a notice to customers on April 11 saying: In order to better cope with demand fluctuations, Maersk will cancel the MSC ARIES/318N voyage of the TP2 route. The cargo will be received by TP6 Maersk Evora 318N and TP8 Maersk ntares 319N. And Maersk is still canceling voyages in an effort to match supply and demand.
Prior to this, the 2M Alliance has announced the cancellation of the two voyages TP6/Pearl and TP2/Jaguar departing from China on April 13 and April 21 respectively.
Mass cancellations of flights on certain routes have led to suspension of services due to consecutive voyages being cancelled. For example, the AE1/Shogun ring route, one of the six Asia-Europe routes of the 2M alliance, has been permanently suspended.
