Route News! COSCO cancels this Canadian express flight CENX! November 29 Last sailing ends

recently,COSCO Shipping Lines will end a route "CENX" connecting China and Canada's Port Rupert. Launched in October 2021, the route will provide express flights from Qingdao and Shanghai to Port Rupert, Canada.

The order of ports of call for the canceled routes is:Qingdao-Shanghai-Rupert-Qingdao

This Canadian direct service "CENX" deploys five Panamax vessels of around 4,500 TEU.The last voyage was the 4,250 TEU "XIN YING KOU", which arrived in Rupert on November 29 and ended the last voyage.After returning to Shanghai, the ship will be transferred to another of COSCO's Canadian direct service "CPNW", which is currently short of one ship.

This Canadian line, named "CPNW" by COSCO SHIPPING, has a six-week cycle and puts in 6 container ships of 4,050-10,060 TEU, all provided by COSCO. The order of ports of call on the "CPNW" route is: Hong Kong-Yantian-Ningbo-Shanghai-Rupert-Vancouver-Hong Kong.

The soon-to-be-closed "CENX" is an independent service, run by COSCO. The "CPNW" service is jointly operated by alliance members.COSCO, CMA CGM, Evergreen, and OOCL named "CPNW", "TPX", "PE2" and "PNW4" respectively, will continue to provide direct connections between Shanghai and Port Rupert.
