Sea freight generally includes: local charges, sea freight, destination charges. This paper will introduce the detailed explanation of freight charges for international shipping routes in Europe.

1. Local fees

Local expenses vary in different regions of China due to different operation modes. In South China, the forwarder can book space directly with the shipping company. But in East China, the freight forwarder must book space with the shipping company through the booking agent. The following lists the items included in the local charge of the main port of departure for your reference

Yantian/Shekou/Chiwan/Dachao Wan: THC (cabinet), DOC (ticket), seal fee (cabinet), VGM (ticket), equipment fee (cabinet), operation fee (cabinet)

Ningbo: THC (cabinet), DOC (ticket), seal fee (cabinet), VGM (ticket), operation fee (cabinet); Booking charge (container), security charge (container), manifest charge (ticket)

Shanghai: THC (cabinet), DOC (ticket), seal fee (cabinet), VGM (ticket), operation fee (cabinet); Booking charge (container), manifest charge (ticket)

Qingdao: THC (cabinet), DOC (ticket), seal fee (cabinet), VGM (ticket), operation fee (cabinet); Booking charge (container), security charge (container), manifest charge (ticket), cargo harbor charge (container), port construction charge (container)

Note: Most VGM will be collected by ticket, but some will be collected by cabinet

Ii. Ocean freight generally includes:

freight

ENS fee

LSS/L+LSS (LSS fees vary among different shipping companies, some list LSS/L+LSS separately, some list only LSS, LSS varies among shipping companies)

EBS (EMERGENCY BUNKER SURCHARGE),ERC (EMPTY RESPOSITIONING), and STF (Suez Transit Fee) are usually included in the shipping charges

3. Port of destination charges

The cost of destination port is also the transportation cost that logistics customers will consider.

DTHC

2. ISPS (ISPS: International ship and port facility security, port facility security)

3. Documentation fee at destination port

3. For the free time at the destination port (including free container and free pile time at the dock), the customers hope that the longer the free time is, the better, because the customs clearance efficiency in Baltic and Mediterranean regions is low, and it is easy to cause extra fees due to time out.
