Evergreen clarifies the report of "Chang-Chi Ship East lodged a complaint with Evergreen Marine"

In response to reports in the foreign media on April 1 that the owner of the charter captain of Evergreen Shipping filed a complaint with the High Court in London against Evergreen Shipping and other persons involved in the case, Evergreen Shipping hereby clarifies as follows:

Evergreen Marine said it had received a written notice from the owner of the ship appointed solicitor yesterday that the company was considering the possible liability and compensation for the ship running agaround. In order to protect its rights, the company has applied to the British court for limitation of liability in accordance with the 1976 International Liability Limitation Convention.

In the application for limitation of liability, the shipowner listed Evergreen Marine and several other companies that may claim against the shipowner as parties to the claim, and gave notice in accordance with the law, rather than telling the shipowner to the company and other claimant parties.Evergreen Marine further said that our lawyers are collecting relevant data to deal with the follow-up matters.
