HMM opens new route from far East to East South America

ALVIN HKSG-GROUP 2021-10-27 19:06:53

HMM, a South Korean liner company, has announced that it will open a new liner route connecting the Far East and the east coast of South America to expand and strengthen its network.

HMM announced that it will operate the new far East-South America Eastern route (FIL) independently.

According to the plan, the FIL route's inaugural 5000TEU vessel will depart from Busan Port on December 7, and the voyage will last 84 days.

On the reason for opening the new route, HMM said, As the global shortage of containers and space has intensified recently, some shipping companies have skipped calling busan Port of Korea on routes from the Far East to South America. Currently, most flights from South Korea to South America have been canceled. Therefore, we opened this route to ensure the smooth export of Korean exporters.

It is understood that the port of call of FIL route is Busan Port, Shanghai port, Ningbo port, Shekou port, Singapore port, Katupali port, Durban port, Santos port, Baranagua port, Itapoa port, Navigentes port, Buenos Aires port, Montevideo port, Singapore port, Hong Kong port, Busan port.

A HMM official said that the company will consolidate its position in the far East and the east coast of South America based on the new route, which has great growth potential, to maximize profits.
