air shipping agent Supplies for pandemic fight flowing well

Aaron China Daily 2021-08-07 18:29:04

Civil Aviation Resources Network News, March 17, 2020: The International Air Transport Association (IATA, hereinafter referred to as "International Air Transport Association") and its member airlines continue to support the government's measures to curb the spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic (COVID-19). Since the outbreak of the epidemic, air cargo has become an important partner for transporting urgently needed medicines, medical equipment (including spare parts/maintenance components) and ensuring the smooth flow of materials with the highest timeliness requirements in the global supply chain. All-cargo planes, passenger plane belly compartments and rescue flights dedicated to epidemic areas have all been put on the front line of the fight against the epidemic.

   Air Cargo also actively participates in the transportation of food and products purchased online when people are quarantined at home in response to the government's call.

   Unprecedented travel restrictions and a sharp drop in passenger demand have also seriously affected the global air cargo capacity. The IATA calls on governments of all countries to take emergency measures to ensure the smooth flow of air freight and support the global "war epidemic".

Mr. Alexandrede Juniac, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the International Air Transport Association, said: “Since the end of January, due to government travel restrictions, more than 185,000 passenger flights have been cancelled. At a critical moment in the fight against the epidemic. As a result, the global air cargo capacity has dropped significantly. In order to make up for the capacity gap, the all-cargo aircraft fleet has been put into operation. The anti-epidemic supply line must remain open and efficient and effective. To this end, the government must take emergency measures."

   Governments of all countries must attach great importance to the important role of air freight logistics in the fight against the new crown pneumonia epidemic and take the following actions:

  -Air cargo business does not apply to any travel restrictions related to the epidemic, and the transportation of medical supplies for medical treatment and rescue needs to be kept unimpeded across the board;

  -Standardized measures and procedures to ensure that air cargo flows smoothly around the world with minimal resistance;

  -Exemption from the 14-day quarantine requirement for air cargo crew members who have not interacted with ordinary people;

  -Support the temporary traffic rights that may be applicable to restrict cargo transportation;

  -Reduce the economic cost of cargo flights, such as airspace flight charges, aircraft parking fees and flight time restrictions, to ensure the operation of aviation logistics in extraordinary times.

"Air cargo companies are working closely with governments and health organizations around the world to protect public health while ensuring the normal operation of the global economy. When the global health and epidemic prevention war begins, governments of all countries should act urgently to ensure the smooth flow of air freight logistics. , Save lives." Mr. De Juniac emphasized.
