Wanhai Shipping is continuing to strengthen its trans-Pacific route layout. In order to cope with the growing transportation demand in the Asia-North America West Coast market and enhance the coverage depth and flexibility of the service network, the company recently officially announced that it willIn May 2026, it will cooperate with Ocean Network Shipping (ONE) and jointly invest in shipping capacity to open the second direct route to Los Angeles in the United States - the AP2 route.
This route is designed as a weekly service, and the planned port calling order is: Qingdao – Ningbo – Los Angeles – Oakland – Qingdao. This layout directly connects the core foreign trade ports in East China and North China, and directly connects the two key hub ports of Los Angeles and Oakland on the west coast of the United States.
Based on Wanhai's existing route network, the opening of the AP2 route will significantly optimize the maritime channels from North and East China to major markets on the West Coast of the United States, provide customers with direct flight service options with shorter voyages and more stable schedules, and effectively improve the timeliness and reliability of the overall supply chain.
Through the new AP2 route, Wanhai Shipping will further increase its service frequency on the Asia-North America West Coast route and form a more dense route network. This can not only better meet customers' diversified logistics needs for different ports of departure and different delivery times, but also reflects the company's strategic intention to actively adapt to market changes and proactively optimize service products.
This cooperation will deepen the operational synergy between Wanhai and ONE, realize resource complementation, jointly enhance the comprehensive service capabilities and market competitiveness on trans-Pacific routes, and strive to build more robust, efficient and flexible container transportation solutions for global customers.
