MSC online instant quote function officially launched

MSC Mediterranean Shipping has upgraded its e-commerce platform myMSC and added a new online Instant Quote feature. Customers using this tool can quickly and easily obtain real-time freight charges for container booking.

It is understood that most booking services of MSC are performed offline, and it may take some time to complete the booking. By using the InstantQuote function, quotations can be generated online 24 hours a day in a few minutes.
 
Customers can use the quotation generated on myMSC to complete the booking immediately. Or you can save the quote or forward it to multiple contacts for booking later. Automatic quotation generation also reduces human errors, which further improves process efficiency.
 
The Instant Quote function is currently only applicable to cargo transportation from North America to Europe and from Asia to Europe, and plans to add more routes in 2020.

How do I use Instant Quote?

Customers first need to log in to myMSC on myMSC.com, or if they have not yet registered, they must register for an account. After logging in through the desktop version or the myMSCiOS / Android application, customers can access the instant quote function.
 
By selecting the start and end points of the shipment of the goods and the size of the equipment, customers can see the options for freight. The detailed information included in the quotation, such as shipping time, estimated shipping time, route and cost will be clearly displayed.
 
The tool can be used to book 20-foot and 40-foot general cabinets and 40-foot and 45-foot high cabinets. For regions that provide multimodal transport services, customers can choose the point-to-point rate from the origin to the destination.
 
MSC ensures seamless integration of Instant Quote functionality into myMSC and brings a smooth overall user experience to customers. This new feature adds a list of e-commerce tools available in myMSC, such as the function of making electronic bookings, retrieving documents such as booking confirmations and arrival notifications, viewing bookings through the overview, creating and submitting samples of bills of lading, and submitting VGM and tracking shipment and receiving notifications.
