On April 8, the multi-purpose vessel "Guoyunhai" owned by COSCO Shipping Bulk Lines successfully berthed at the Phase II Terminal of Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port, marking the successful maiden voyage of the company's first container liner route, the North Africa direct route. This new channel will build an efficient and direct maritime transportation line between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the North African market.
It is understood that this route is the first container liner route operated by COSCO Shipping Bulk and is currently in operation with 80,000-ton multi-purpose ships. The sequence of ports of call is: Qingdao—Incheon—Shanghai—Ningbo—Nansha—Suez Canal—Port Saidsi—Benghazi—Misrata—Valencia. Through this layout, stable direct shipping has been achieved between Nansha Port and Port Said in Egypt, Benghazi Port in Libya and Misrata Port. The shortest voyage from Nansha to North African ports only takes 21 days. It is worth mentioning that this route provides the fastest delivery time from Nansha to Libya in the current market, with obvious transportation timeliness advantages.
This route has strong cargo adaptability and flexibility and can carry dangerous goods such as new energy vehicles, lithium batteries and energy storage cabinets. It is also equipped with 220 refrigerated container sockets, which can meet the export needs of many types of goods and is economical, efficient and reliable.
The opening of this route also marks the in-depth integration and model innovation of Guangzhou Port and COSCO Shipping Bulk in the "container bulk cargo" business field. The two parties will rely on the location advantages of Guangzhou Port as a comprehensive hub port in South China, combined with COSCO Shipping's professional bulk shipping capabilities, to jointly break through traditional business boundaries, improve port resource utilization efficiency and comprehensive service capabilities by coordinating container and bulk cargo logistics paths, and provide customers with more valuable logistics solutions.
