Sunny Worldwide Logistics It is a logistics company with more than 20 years of transportation experience, focusing on markets such as Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, and Southeast Asia. It is more of a cargo owner than a cargo owner~

As the global shipping industry's green and low-carbon transformation continues to accelerate, green shipping corridors are becoming an important practical carrier for the implementation of the International Maritime Organization's 2023 Ship Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Strategy.

On October 20, during the 2026 North Bund International Shipping Forum, Hainan Maritime Safety Administration, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, COSCO Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd., Hainan Ports and Shipping Holdings Co., Ltd. and COSCO Shipping Ports Co., Ltd. jointly signed the "Yangpu Port-Abu Dhabi Port" Green Shipping Corridor Construction Cooperation Initiative, marking the full launch of the construction of this green shipping corridor connecting China and the Middle East.

Relying on the location advantages of hub ports to build a green cooperation platform

Yangpu Port and Abu Dhabi Port are important hub ports in China and the Middle East respectively. The two places have opened direct container routes and have good logistics foundation and cooperation conditions. This five-party cooperation covers maritime supervision, port operations, shipping companies and local port platforms, forming a coordinated promotion pattern of "supervision-port-shipping-locality".

The cooperation will be guided by green and low-carbon transformation, give full play to the role of market entities, build an exchange platform around clean ship fuel supply and refueling, green ship operations, green port construction and technological equipment innovation, and promote green and low-carbon development of the entire port and shipping chain.

Policy framework and industry trends provide support

Since 2025, the Ministry of Transport has released the "International Green Shipping Corridor Cooperation Initiative" and established the International Green Shipping Corridor Alliance, providing policy guidance and collaboration mechanisms for the construction of green shipping corridors. The cooperation initiative signed by the five parties is not only a positive response to the above-mentioned policy framework, but also in line with the trend of global ports and shipping companies accelerating the layout of green corridors.

Through the direct route between Yangpu Port and Abu Dhabi Port, both parties can explore replicable and scalable cooperation models in clean fuel refueling, green ship demonstration operations, port shore power and low-carbon facility construction.

Create a demonstration corridor for green cooperation between China and Arab ports and shipping

According to the direction of cooperation, the five parties will explore green shipping development paths suitable for regional characteristics and strive to build a green and low-carbon cooperation demonstration corridor for China-UAE ports and shipping. All parties expressed that they will take the signing of this initiative as a new starting point, build consensus, advance pragmatically, jointly explore new paths for green shipping development, and contribute green wisdom and practical samples to the sustainable development of the global shipping industry.

In the next step, the five parties are expected to establish a regular communication mechanism around the key points of cooperation, promote the gradual implementation of specific projects, and provide a demonstration for the green transformation of regional shipping.
