There are still two or three weeks before the Lunar New Year's Eve. However, due to the early holiday of factories, there is only one week left for cargo owners and freight forwarders to actually ship goods. At this time, it is a big test for the terminal, trailers, freight forwarders and cargo owners!
Recently, Guangzhou Port Nansha Container Terminal Phase IIIIssued an emergency notice, announcing that starting from 0:00 on January 29, Nansha Phase III will only accept containers for the time being. ETA-5 days(Within five days before the expected arrival date of the ship) Appointment gate entry business for export heavy containers."
For this surprise notice (which took effect immediately 52 minutes after it was issued), the official reason given by Guangzhou Nansha Port was "to avoid excessive storage density in the yard, reduce road congestion and queues, and to take into account the actual production and operation conditions in the port area."
According to feedback from many industry insiders, in addition to this urgent notice to shorten the appointment time for heavy export containers, Guangzhou Nansha Port Phase 3 has already made a "ruthless move" before.
Previously, in an early warning notice issued by the Secretariat of the Guangzhou Container Shipping Association on January 28, the terminal had introduced severe measures of "three consecutive penalties" to severely punish the cancellation of gate reservations:
Notice from the third phase of the terminal: Starting from 0:00 on January 28, 2026, all drivers who enter the port and cancel the pick-up of cabinets once will be prohibited from entering the port for three days. If canceled twice, the driver will be prohibited from entering the port for seven days. If the company cancels the pick-up of cabinets three times in total, all the company's vehicles will be prohibited from entering the port for seven days.
The "three-consecutive penalty" measure introduced by Guangzhou Nansha Port for canceling appointments has caused truck and trailer companies that were in chaos years ago to start complaining. Some freight forwarding companies have directly announced that they will "suspend the delivery of warehouse orders for Nansha's new plan."
In view of the fact that Nansha Port ETA-7 has been shortened to ETA-5 and the terminal appointment number is extremely tight, cargo owners are reminded to check the accurate shipping date before loading and arrange the loading time in advance. Avoid a lot of extra costs such as container storage and truck pressing at the outer yard due to rejection (The storage lockers at the yard outside the pier are not only sky-high but also full.).
