NO.1 The negotiation broke down! American truck drivers may go on strike!

According to a CNN report, labor negotiations between UPS and the American Truckers Union have broken down a few days ago. The American Truckers union said it will not reach a new contract and will hold a strike on August 1, which is expected to last for 10 days.

The American Truckers union believes that the cause of the strike lies with UPS. The union said that during the current labor agreement contract period, UPS's income has almost doubled, but the two sides failed to reach an agreement on the union's plan to seek a salary increase.

UPS said it still hopes to reach an agreement with the American Truckers union to avoid a strike. UPS spokesman Glenn Zaccara said: "Our focus is negotiation, not speculation. We remain confident that an agreement will be reached that benefits our employees, our company, our customers and our union."

NO.2 Rising water level in the middle reaches of the Rhine in Germany

Due to continuous rainfall in southern Germany in recent days, the water level in the middle reaches of the Rhine River has risen, which has ensured that cargo ships can sail with full load. However, the water level in the lower reaches of the Rhine River north of Cologne in Germany is still relatively shallow, and cargo ships still need to reduce their load.

With the increase of upstream water, it is expected that the shipping bottleneck caused by the drop in water level of the Rhine River is expected to be temporarily relieved. In June of this year, the German Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration announced that the water level of some rivers in the Rhine River in Germany was lower than the minimum limit for safe navigation, and freight barges on the Rhine River were required to reduce their load.
