Ocean Network Shipping recently announced adjustments to its route service arrangements from China to the Red Sea region. According to the latest plan, ONE will withdraw from the Red Sea-China route it previously participated in, and will instead rent space to access the RES/CRX route jointly operated by China United Shipping and China Grain Logistics, and sell this service to the outside world under the name "RC2".
Route structure adjustment: withdraw from RCS and rent RES/CRX space
Currently, ONE participates in the RCS route jointly operated by Global Feeder Shipping, Honghai Container Shipping and Dexiang Shipping through space leasing, providing transportation services between China and the Red Sea region. After the adjustment, ONE will withdraw from this route and instead lease space on the RES/CRX route operated by China United Airlines and China Grain Logistics, and provide booking services under the name RC2.
It should be noted that this adjustment is a change in the chartering partners and route arrangements, and does not mean that ONE will invest its own ships to independently operate the RC2 route.
Adjustment of ports of call: Ningbo replaces Qingdao and Shenzhen Shekou
In the new RC2 route, ONE will continue to cover the three major Red Sea ports of Jeddah, Aqaba and Sokhna, but the order of ports of call in China will be adjusted. The original service coverage of Qingdao and Shenzhen Shekou will be cancelled, and Ningbo will be included in the route as a new port of call. The adjusted port sequence of the RC2 route is: Shanghai-Ningbo-Nansha-Jeddah-Aqaba-Sukhna-Shanghai.
From the perspective of port coverage, the main destination ports on the Red Sea side remain unchanged, while the China side has been adjusted from the original combination of multiple East China and South China ports to a three-port layout of Shanghai, Ningbo and Nansha.

For freight forwarders and cargo owners who arrange cargo from China to the Red Sea through ONE, the most direct impact of this adjustment is reflected in the choice of departure port. Ningbo export goods will be covered by new routes, while goods originally planned to be shipped from Qingdao or Shekou need to further confirm with ONE for subsequent booking arrangements, transfer plans and transportation timeliness.
As of now, ONE has not announced the specific effective date, first sailing ship and sailing schedule of the RC2 adjustment. Customers with recent shipment plans to Jeddah, Aqaba and Sokhna are advised to adjust their transportation arrangements in a timely manner based on the latest shipping schedule and booking notice issued by ONE's local branch.
