According to the latest data from the official website of the Port of Los Angeles, there are currently 107 ships waiting in line for berths at the Port of Southern California, 84 of which are container ships, of which 37 container ships are waiting at anchorages in the Port of Los Angeles.
In addition, the average waiting time for ships in the Port of Los Angeles reached a new record, rising to 17.9 days. The container ship with the longest waiting time was "Bal Peace" with a waiting time of up to 53 days.

Due to severe port congestion, Yixing and Wan Hai have moved away the ships deployed on the Asia-Western US route and suspended its expedited service at the Port of Los Angeles for at least seven weeks. Expressed by stars, it removed 6 ships from the route, leaving 6 ships on each of the remaining two Asia-Western US routes, both of which call at the Port of Los Angeles.
According to a focus report from shipping analysis and consulting company Sea intelligence on Sunday, the last of the seven ship services connecting Kaohsiung, Shanghai and Ningbo to Southern California has left Kaohsiung on November 5. The service called ZX3 will restart on December 23.

It is understood that Yixing provides services from Asia to Los Angeles three times a week: ZEX, ZX2 and ZX3. According to data from shipping data provider eeSea, the average turnaround time of ZEX, ZX2 and ZX3 services at the Port of Los Angeles (including waiting time at berths and unloading and loading times at berths) was 28 days in October, of which the cargo volume served by ZX2 and ZX3 The impact of congestion is more serious.
A spokesperson for Yixing said: “In view of the long delays on the West Coast (especially Los Angeles), we have made changes to our services, including e-commerce routes to Los Angeles. Some ships have been transferred to other routes that require them. Due to the current When the supply chain is interrupted, we will continue to adjust our services to provide our customers with the best possible service."
In addition, Wan Haizheng transferred ships from its six Asia-Western US routes to its intra-Asia routes. Three ships are being redeployed to a new express service calling Ningbo, Nansha and New York.
In announcing its results for the first three quarters, Wan Hai stated that ships will have to wait 28 days before berthing at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. This situation is unlikely to improve even at the beginning of next year.

“The congestion is so severe that we can no longer provide reliable shipping schedules. Therefore, we are gradually withdrawing some ships and putting them on intra-Asia routes to catch the peak period of shipments to India and Vietnam.” General Manager Wan Hai said.
Maersk said it will not transfer ships from the West Coast route to the East Coast route. Hapag-Lloyd said that although it has added additional loading ships and reduced calls at West Coast ports, it does not think it makes much sense to re-arrange ships' routes.
"At present, it is meaningless to try to ship goods from the West Coast through the U.S. Gulf of Mexico or the East Coast, because this requires more ships and will only transfer the bottleneck to other places. Except for multimodal transportation, it will not change the current situation." An executive of Burrot said.
As shippers seek ways to avoid congestion, some Asian freight forwarders have discovered that cargo is moving from California ports to other ports. General Manager of Key Account Management, Rhenus Greater China, said: "Rhenus found that the number of orders at the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach has decreased, while the number of orders at other ports of discharge has increased. Prince Rupert is one of the most popular destinations."
